My Two Cents
I love sweet and smoky crock pot meatballs recipe. It is one of my go-to appetizers if I have a big crowd to feed. I simply make a bunch and serve it with a side of garlic bread and voila – everyone is happy and full!
Crock pot meatballs recipe is a lifesaver for those who live a busy life and simply do not have hours to stand next to the stove cooking a meal. It is ideal for an overnight cooking time, and waking up to a water-mouthing smoky and sweet smell is something truly magical!
This particular recipe has a sweet and smoky twist to it, because why not make things less traditional and experiment! And this rich and delicious sauce gets even more flavorful overnight, so make ahead and refrigerate for up to 3 days, use for lunches and serve over pasta or rice… Options unlimited!

MEATBALLSFinely chop the shallot and 1 clove of garlic. Chop fresh green onion and parsley then add to a large mixing bowl. Add ground chuck beef, 2 tablespoons of Smoked Salt, and 1 teaspoon of Crushed Red Pepper to your bowl and mix well. Add pepper to taste and start shaping your meatballs. I suggest keeping it on a smaller side to make sure meatballs will get packed with flavor in less cooking time. In a large frying pan melt 2 tablespoons of butter over high heat. Add your meatballs and start browning them, 3-5 minutes per side or until dark brown. Set aside and prepare the sauce. |

SAUSEPrepare tomatoes by cutting the hard middle part out and chopping the rest into larger pieces. Add chopped tomatoes and 3 cloves of garlic, peeled but not chopped, to your crockpot. Add 1 cup of tomato puree and 1 cup of white wine (you can add 1 cup of broth or water instead). Finish with some fresh thyme and 1 tablespoon of Cinnamon Sugar. Mix everything together. |

Crock PotAdd meatballs to your crockpot and stir well to make sure all of them are covered in a sauce mix. Cook on high for at least 4 hours or on low for 7-8 hours to ensure the best taste. Try a little bit of your cooked sauce to see if any more smoked salt needed. I usually end up adding just a bit more to kick that smoky flavor. |
